Mowing pasture for two hours (good seat time) and I checked to see how much gas was still in the tank. The gas was so hot it was "boiling". Know this must be normal because tractor is a 49 and has had alot of gas in it's time on the farms. But thinking I had better check with you all and make sure.

It's been so hot down here in Texas that when I mowed, the gas got so hot it completely boiled away! The tractor stopped runnin' and when I looked in the tank....no liquid at all... it was all vapor!

Boiling gas is never safe unless you are wanting to compete with the opening program of the olympics. Check your thermostat to make sure it is working properly. Clean the debrie out of the cooling fins of the radiator by running water from garden hose. Push the junk from the engine forward. Check the timing.

Blow the radiator out...Dont have a push fan do you? Never had mine boil and we have been near or at a 100 for months....Hot summer = cold winter I hope... Found this thread BOILING GAS

Not sure if it's normal but I would think that without a temp gauge a lot of the N's have had the radiator stop up while hogging causing them to get hot enough to boil the gas in the tank. David.......

Just sorta said the same thing about HUMAN type gases to an older female flight graduate., PRIVATE PILOT.

Take a look at your bodie's "TRUE BODY TEMP, once and awhile. While you have urinated.

If'N you don't see some bubblies once and awhile, you could go "BOTTOMS, UP".

Of course, I promised the GREEKS to bring a starter along the next visit. He said "NO, never had a problem before". Well, I said "I know YOU do, NOW. CELL MATE.

NEVER open gas tanks on hot tractors. You can get a face full of gas.It boils at 180 enough to burn you even if it dosent ingnite..If the tank vent is plugged the tank can pressurize.Ford and Farmall have been supplying free vented caps for many years to fix the problem.I check gas before the tractors job is started.Lugging 40 lb of gas 2000 ft across a hayfield will educate you fast.

I had the problem mowing in 90+ weather with my 2N, Good running order with good radiator and pump. Often it quit from vapor lock and on stopping coiuld hear the boiling in the tank from the fuel line. Simply by slightly retarding the timing my problem was cured.
