Gas in the Crankcase

While waiting on my carb rebuild kit, I decided to change the oil. It was full of fuel. I know how it got there (fuel left on,drain plugged, dirty carb etc.) but now I am wondering if just changing the oil will be enough. I don't want to run it and burn something up. Any suggestions other than a few oil changes? Thanks.

ron, change the oil and filter and have fun. thats all that is necessary. the few drops of gas in the system wii evaporate very quick. RP

It is very possible that you have a liquid lock on one or more cylinder. Don't try to pull the tractor if it doesn't want to turn over with the starter. Remove the plugs and then gently pull it a few feet. Do not under any circumstance turn on the ignition!!!!! Better to disconnect the battery to prevent accidental spark. A tractor on fire is not a nice thing to witness.
