Gear reduction starter for AC

I am looking for a gear reduction start for an AC WD 45. It will not start on a 18 volt battery. Looking for someone that might know where to get one.

Hit it with twentyfour volts. The starter will turn it. The starter also likes the extra voltage. Better than dragging low voltage at a higher amperage

I have the same problem. I have the 12 volt system with a big battery and mine will turn over once and then have to engage starter again. So does anyone know of gear reduction starter that is made for an AC.

I have built up some starters using 2.4 kw windings from a delco starter found on a mercruiser bbc. But if you will remove the pull switch from side of starter and replace with a post use a warn winch solenoid and 24 volts the regular starter will last longer do to the higher voltage not requiring the large amp draw to spin it 400 to 440 inch 14.1 compression ratios started like this everytime.jmho

More suspicious that the cables are undersized, bolt on battery clamps are being used. Often too much ignition timing advance.
Really if the cranking compression is that high. The wrong cam is in the engine.

I run a D17 with near 12:1 compression and have a gear reduction starter on it. Got mine from HI-TORQUE in california. Great folks and will build one for your tractor if they dont already have one that will fit it.
