What brand is it?I found this today at TSC, it is $29.00 for 5gal. They only had 2 gallons of the 90w mineral oil, so I went with 80-90 this time. I'm thinking about using this stuff for winter
Your attachment/picture did not post so we have no idea of what oil you looked at/got at TSC.
It hits my full mark Just before it comes out the bottom holehows your axle seals? if unknown quality fill to bottom bolt hole of inspection plate instead of full mark on stick.
Its a relabeled "yellow bucket" 303 hydraulic oil. Buy the Traveller Premium - significantly better oil for an additional $15.From VP racing website under product specifications.
Its viscosity is comparable to a SAE 20 crankcase fluid or an ISO 68 industrial oil for general purpose applications.
I forgot I'm am also one to say you buy cheap stuff you get cheap stuff, the oil you looked will work yes but I also neglected to mention it could also be of questionable quality too. I personally use Shells rotella S4 TXM. but its your machine and money, we can provide opinions and options but in the end its up to you what you get.UTF is fine if it's rated 10w30, some insist on yellow metal safe but it isn't necessary.
yes, it appears to be a rebrand of the 303 that we used to run through the log skidders, some more than others. I found that leaving your line guards on your machine prevents snagged and broken hydraulic lines. Whooda thunk? Its a relabeled "yellow bucket" 303 hydraulic oil. Buy the Traveller Premium - significantly better oil for an additional $15.
TOH
I used premium traveler 80-90 this time as I still had a gallon in the machine. Im just spitballing about this winter. Pretty certain farm tractor repair will get in more pump rebuild kits by then and I will be in there again.I forgot I'm am also one to say you buy cheap stuff you get cheap stuff, the oil you looked will work yes but I also neglected to mention it could also be of questionable quality too. Make sure that nobody thinks that Hy-Gard is the same as the VP.
Be careful with your ptoduct descriptions. Traveler Premium UTF is not the same thing as SAE 80W90 gear oil. Two distinctly different types of oil.I used premium traveler 80-90 this time as I still had a gallon in the machine. Im just spitballing about this winter.
