Just had a Generac standby generator given to me
for 15 minutes of excavator time helping the caretaker of the property where I have been doing some site work . After I got it home started checking it out . It is a 10 kw unit and the moter does crank over . Only problem, it is set up for natural gas. Is it hard to convert to propane?Any idea what it might be valued at ?

If you want to go with propaine you will need to change the orifice size to a smaller one. Also you will need a High pressure to low pressure regulator. Natural gas in a house is only 10 inches water columb at absolute MAX. This is like a tenth of a pound pressure!! Propaine can be in the pound range!!!!! Try 25 pounds. Go to your local RV guys.
They do this jazz all of the time. The Onan generators in trailers and RVs. That 20lb tank will give you about 8 hours of run time. Get more tanks or pick up one of the big ones they use on a fork lift. Jeffcat
