If need be, those heads will run without a spiral on the tip. It might hurt pulling corn in a little bit, but let’s say I really didn’t notice with just one missing.
On the variable speed drive there was a big bolt on the rear side (to the rear of combine) that you could thread in or out to take up or add slack to the variable speed pulley, which the cylinder adjusted the front side of it.
