Back in 2015 I made some soap using deer fat I rendered. That soap will give a thin cream that really cleans my hands. Lasts a long time too. Rub that cream for a while then rinse & my hands are pink.
then you have to use something to get the WD40 off.WD-40 works on just about anything
If i recall correctly, several years ago they changed the formula for gojo as the original had mineral spirits in it. The powers that be decided it wasn't good to wash your hands with such.Anybody know where to buy the original Go-Jo hand cleaner? I wonder if it has been discontinued, I haven't been able to find it in local stores, and you can find several places listed online but they either say "out of stock" or won't let you follow through with your order.
This is the best hand cleaner I've ever used, hands down. They have all this new fancy stuff with pumice and whatnot but none of it I've used works as well as the original smooth, white Go-Jo.View attachment 106267
As nasty as it was I thought it had kerosene in it.If i recall correctly, several years ago they changed the formula for gojo as the original had mineral spirits in it. The powers that be decided it wasn't good to wash your hands with such.
I'm sure Snap-On is made by somebody else, and then they put their name on it and double or triple the price.Original Goop from Menards at home. It doesn't work quite as well as it did in the 70s and 80s, but still pretty good. Probanly lost a solvent or 2 over the years. At work we use Snap On Black Cherry with fibril. It works good.
Dunno...I don't buy it. We have 4 shops in our dealership group and this is what the company supplies for all of them. Looks like a 4 pack of 84 oz bottles is $143.I'm sure Snap-On is made by somebody else, and then they put their name on it and double or triple the price.
From the safety data sheet: Made by Woodbine Products, Marketed by Snap-on.Dunno...I don't buy it. We have 4 shops in our dealership group and this is what the company supplies for all of them. Looks like a 4 pack of 84 oz bottles is $143.
Because after using it for a month during the winter you have to take a week off to get your cracks healed up.Well here’s the word straight from the horse’s mouth, discontinued.
Why would they discontinue the only product they had that actually worked to clean your hands? That brand is dead to me now.
It's called "Lava" because it contains pumice, you know, lava rock... It's not just Spanish for "he/she washes."I just took my GoJo dispenser down, been there for decades and a lot of those big containers went through it. The last containers I bought didn't have the plastic follower in them and they wouldn't feed right and now they are no longer available. I stayed away from the pumice stuff and used Lava soap for a final scrub after GoJo. What I have found to work well now is hand cleaner I buy from Summit Racing. It has walnut shells instead of pumice and doesn't have any smell like the cherry or orange ones, I don't like smelling like a greasy orange. Works out for me as I add it to orders to increase the $ amount to get free shipping.
Amazon sells the same thing for 110 bucks.Dunno...I don't buy it. We have 4 shops in our dealership group and this is what the company supplies for all of them. Looks like a 4 pack of 84 oz bottles is $143.
Yep. I put it in empty hand soap pump bottles. Finish off with lava if diesel or something smelly was used.I've tried every hand cleaner known to man at the shop, never been impressed with any. Then I worked on something at the house and used my wife's regular blue Dawn dish detergent. Cleaned my hands better than any of the purpose made cleaners. So now I use Dawn at the shop and my hands are cleaner than they have ever been. Dawn is cheaper, too.
I suspect it was because hardly anybody uses it anymore. It hasn’t been popular in years, with people going with the fruity smelling and all kinds of other additives. Guess all that new fangled stuff was good marketing, but didn’t work as well as the original.Either you and flying belgian were the only two using it anymore, or it's got something nasty in it that's not good for you.
Ask again in 10 years when you've sprouted a 6th finger on each hand.
