Got a dog today

Got this Golden Lab puppy today. I wanted a dog because I hate all of the cats we have.

haha, that's pretty sweet. My friends have a female yellow lab, and it's getting to be the most most energetic dog ever. It will not know when to stop playing.

Its just the way the picture turned out, he eyes don't look strange. He actually looks a little bit darker for real, must be the camera flash.

Don't mean to contradict you but I have been Friends with Two Yellow Labradors and your Puppy looks the same as they did when they were Babies. Are you sure he is of Golden Retriever Parentage? Regardless he is a soon to be Life commitment. My taffy is right by my side as I type and is 11 1/2 Yrs. and has been a joy to us all her life. Good luck and may you and he enjoy each other for Life.

We took on a 4 mo old Australian Shepherd three weeks ago. I had forgotten, after living with 15 years with a great mix we got from the humane shelter, how much patience and persistence it takes to deal with a pup.
No pics of him but he is coming along fine, learning to leave cats, chickens and turkey alone.

Likes to sleep UNDER our bed. We are sure he is going to be a great addition to the family.

My boss just got a yellow lab pup this spring after having to put down his old huntin' dog. He's got a black one too, but man that pup has energy.


Sadly, he got it for hunting and it's real gun shy, so I think he got rid of it already. He always has them in the office- really like goin in to do some paperwork for the secretary and the dogs bring me the toy to throw it. I ussually throw it in the guy's office- we like to mess with him...

Andy he looks like he has Chocolate Lab parenting in their somewhere. They have those blueish eyes and darker reddish colour to them.

Congrats on acquiring your new "buddy". He's so cute. I've had dogs all my life, and I just love them.

This is 'Legacy' (or Looney Leggie' for short). She's 8 months old now and qualifies as a mixed up lab. I got her from a rescue operation in Kirkwood NY. Real good people. What she has not chewed up usually is electrified, tastes real bad, or bites back, but this is our 4th black lab so anything we didn't want chewed up already has been. You'll have a great time with your pup. Just be sure to teach it to stay away from the road.

I have a yellow lab female (Abby) that just turned five years old this week. She is starting to mellow out of the "puppy stage" now, and behave a little better. She watches me while I work, or tinker, and as soon as she can grab something(tools,rags,etc.) she nabs it and the chase is on. She loves this game. She can be a nuisanse but I wouldn't trade her for nothing.

I have a two year old sheperd-lab mix, Jake. Hes a great dog, he even gets the paper for us. One time, I was making presents for people using a jigsaw, and he came over alot for some reason. I closed up the shop and went outside, and found him laying next to a large pile of wood scraps. Hes a great dog. Hey, start yours off early on riding on tractor/wagon. I started taking Jake with me when he was about 6mts old and he is terrified of the wagon/tractor. Occasionally, when Im giving wagon rides, the little kids can talk him into climbing in, but he wont go near the trator otherwise. My uncle's dog, like the day they got her, started riding in fence wagons, because he couldnt leave her in the house all day. Before she died in July (old age), she would hear the small tractor fire up and she'd go running for it and jump onto the hay wagon. She knew that if my uncle was driving, she was riding on the hay or walking home, but if it was one of the hands, she could catch a ride in the tractor. She was a good old dog.

His parents are two Black Labs. They are both hunters, I don't own the parents though, the mother of this puppy had 9 puppies, this puppy was one of them. Thanks, Andy.
