Hello
My new gps is a Magellan and it works just has good as my old Garmin. My sister inlaw tells me that Magellan makes a GPS just for campers?
I thought she was full of it!
Any body ever heard of such GPS?
Guido.

Don't know what the US ones offer but the cheapest ones you can get here have a "services" menu and you can find the nearest campground, gasstation, food, etc......

Ive never been a big fan of agreeing with sister in-laws, but in this case shes correct. Large 7in screen, and POI's of interest like KOA's, GoodSam, and RV repair dealers.

Hello,
I remained non commital at the discusiion table.
S o I won't loose face.....HA!HA!
BUT>>>>>>>>>>> ITS TRUE!
Magellan does make such an animal.
Model #RV9145 She was right! GRRRRRRRRR!

I got my first GPS for Christmas, a Garmin. I works fine, but it does not identify rest areas on the Interstate (as far as I can tell). This thing really needs an "I gotta pee!" button on it.
Good Luck and God Bless

My experience is with a Garmin. That said I find it better if I load what info I have for a destination into the GPS before I depart from home. If not I will have to pull over and do the loading. Out of the box it has most of the places of interest in the state from what I see. I am a first time user and need a lot more practice to be able to use it with out stumbling around in the dark I think. It is dangerous to work the menu while driving I can see,the reason I input while stopped. The GPS came with out any set up manuals so I had to go online and print out the set up sheet.Time will tell if I can become proficient using it in my travels. The first trip in the motor home will be a fun trip trying to act like I know what I am doing with it. Ask me next year.

Hello,
I just bought the Magellan, but the Garmin was a good one. No updates for it though.
This one now has updates and traffic.
Will see how it works.
Guido.

Hello Revredneck,
Nowdays you can get a GPS geared for the use. The RV9545 is for campers. Once programmed, It will automatically set the road with the type of RV you are driving.
I bet there is one just for 18 wheelers, with the pee button!
Guido.

I have a Megellan kind'a old about 4 years old. Anyway I was going to update it. And I believe it cost close to $85.00 and you can buy a new one for $120.00. I think it's a waste of money to update.
