Did any company make a belly grader for a standard tractor. I have a JD4020 and a coworker swears he saw one years ago. I would think someone does. I have seen a IH M with a whole front end job. looked like they took the front wheels off and attached a grader front end on. I think the one he saw was an attachment that just bolted on in the middle.

i had seen them, set up on a 3000 ford su with a loader, my 310 case had one at one point in time. dont know the manfg. thow

There were kits made to do this with various tractors. The N Newsletter, which is about old Fords, had an article a year or two ago about one. You can get a land plane to mount behind your tractor. There is one in particular that uses the three point to make a semi rigid connection to stretch the leveling out way further than a road grader.

whole point of a grader is to level material...further the front and rear axles are apart...the better...a tractor just has too short a wheelbase to do much good.
guy down the road has a 60' 4 blade land plane...i had him run it over some land i cleared...i swear it was flat enuff to shoot pool on.

Lots of home made stuff out there, and quite a bit of aftermarket kits. AC had the speed patrols, and IH was used in the MRS equipment in the post below. Today, there are companies out there making mid mount graders for today's compacts. Start looking, and you will likely find what you are looking for.

Ther are several makers of mid mount blades today..BUT realize they do not do what a grader does. The frame is just not long enough to make for grader action. The other draw back is the ground clearance. Have sold a couple (after the customer begged) as a Kuboota dealer. don,t know that either customer was real satisfied. I do have a restored MRM M farmall that is a factory machine probably made around 1946. Not bad but you know it when you run it for 2 or 3 hours.

I guess i was just looking for something to drive down the road and wing the snow off. I have 1 1/4 mile of gravel road. Takes awhile to blow the whole thing. This last time it took the county blade 4 days to get out here. I have to start up the tractor anyway and thought I could kill two birds with one stone. Just an idea. thanks for the info.

If I was in your situation, I would see if I could get one of the older 9' valk V blades, like counties mount on dump trucks, and mount it to the front of your 4020. Make a rack that attaches to the rear axle, and pushes the subframe, from there. Once you do all of that good, hard work, I can guarantee that you won't get pushable snow, till you get rid of the tractor!
