Half Baked Idea

Am I the only ont out there that thought the feature article, Super Charged RB, in the Green Magazine would have been more appropiately placed in Farm Show where half baked iedas reign supreme.

I realize everybody comes from a different prespective, but frankly I expected more of Green Magazine in terms of preservation and topics more appropiate to the collector.

No disrespect intended, but I feel the magazine could have done better.

It was different,,and different can be good sometimes,,we have all seen a boat load of stock two knockers, I thought it was neat that he had been useing it for so long..

I guess it's a matter of opinion. I appreciated that the owner made the modifications as a bolt on application. He noted that he may someday put it back to a stock tractor and restore it. I'd honestly rather see someone do this than the guy from Canada who put a 3208 CAT engine in an 830.
It's not like the story was the feature article...it's a balancing act between information/historical preserevation and the entertainment value...perhaps this is why GM has a readership of 32,000+ while Two-Cylinder has a readership of less than 20,000.
I'll have to agree that it would fit in just right in the farm show magazine...of which GM has no affiliation.
My 2 cents

I personal like articles about that stuff, you can only read so many of the same article about the two-cylinders, not like there’s really any new information coming out of the woodwork about unstyled A's or D's or 20, 30 series. That hasn't been written, not to mention some of the same stuff just different writers? Just how many times can you read the stuff, than get the Two-Cylinder mag and there’s the same article? WTF! I would like to read something different once and a while. What do you think they are going to write about in the next ten years? The same article???

I somewhat agree, but I still prefer GM to 2 Cyl. I let my 2 cyl lapse after nearly 15 yrs 0f subscription...it just doesn't do it for me anymore.
I do get tired of 50% of the magazine being advertisements, but understand that is what keeps them in business w/ reasonable subscription rates, so I just grin and bear it.

I refuse to buy GM because of the rudness of Mr Thinker. If you don't want to repeat the ..get a manual...do it like a real gentleman, not a smart a$$ punk kid talking crap. The only place in our rural towns that have smart butts is in the local slop house, and someone usualy gets a education in red neck politness.

I totaly understand the frustrations, and Mr Thinker is like a JD book with all the knowledge, but it needs to be handled better. There are several folks in our antique club that stopped buying because of that reason.
