harbor freight

do any of you own and use a harbor freight engine stand. If so is it any better or worse than torin big red engine stands that northern tool has. Im thinkin about buyin this one.

I've got the 2000# non-foldup model and I built a 6610 Ford engine on it recently but I got real worried there towards the end, when I would leave it for the night I'd put my floor jack and a block of wood under the front just to ease my mind a bit, but it held.

The Torin PROBABLY comes out of the same Chinese factory as this one.

I have one from harbor freight that has held a complete olds 455 engine for years.

I've got a Harbor Freight stand. It currently has a completely assembled Farmall F12 engine on it. After seeing it with the F12 engine, I won't put anything heavier on it. Before I do anything bigger, I will buy or build a heavier stand.

Not-so-big secret about Northern Tool:

Most of the off-brand stuff that they sell is EXACTLY THE SAME as what Harbor Freight sells, except for the paint color and the price. Northern charges a whole lot more for the same subpar to mediochre tools and equipment.

I do like my HF 7" angle grinder, though. Makes lots of sparks and they're actually coming off the wheel and not out of the case!

They sell insurance on anything you buy. GET IT. 90% of anything you buy there is gonna fail. I got a Rice Bin full of Orange Harbor Freight Junk that I can't return.

Hello crafsman.
How about this one. OTC make it. I put up this picture in another post. Some one said that it can be found on ebay. 6000lb. capacity. Adapter plates are extra.
