hard starting B

my B is hard starting when you first start it it's not to bad when it's warmed up it cranks and fires just enough to kick the starter out repeatedly until eventuly it will start. it is on a mag (6v) i've tried changing the timing on the mag but doesn't seem to do much for the problem what can I try also when running in a parade after bout an hour it starts acting up like it wants to quit but never does unless at low idle

Guessing you have some crud behind the power jet.

To make sure you are on/in time you can inch the engine with a hand crank and when the magneto snaps/sparks on number one the TDC line will be in the center of the inspecton hole. That will put the fire line in the center when running.
Easy way to check if you do not have a timing light.

I have the same problem with starting my b. I was thinking maybe the points or condencer, but I could be wrong

I had same problem. Bought a professionally rebuilt mag and problem gone. Your existing mag is weak and after heating up, looses it's ability to generate a hot spark.
