Hard Track vs Soft

Clay can be funny, but when it sets up right, it will take all the power you got and a whole lot more. Soft will let the lower powered tractors spin.

There have been times that my tractor will spin out in 3rd gear on a soft track at 7500 lbs and balanced perfectly. At other times it will just barely spin out in 2nd on hard clay track at 7500 lbs. That clay or a good gumbo can be a gut getter. I've seen pullers who are not used to a clay track with surprised looks on their faces when ol' Betsy don't have enough puddin' to spin the wheels. The difference can be amazing.
