As a tag on to my posting 'challenge of the week', I found the drywall tool and I'm finishing the drywall work in my utility room. Now comes the "funny" part. This utility room has been a work in progress since the house was finished in 1986. It's one of 3 rooms I made out of the attached 1 car garage built with the house. In the past 26 years so many things have back burnered this project and now that the former wife is gone, I decided it is time to finish it. Here's where it gets sticky. I had sheet rocked 2 walls in this room I believe in 1987 or there abouts and made it to the mud stage. Last night after finishing hanging the rock, I started taping and mudding the joints and I started compairing my mud work from 1987 to the way I do it now. I'm no professional at this but I can say that my workmanship on mud work 26 years ago was truely lousy! Kinda' goes back to the saying that a fitter can make or break a finisher's day. I've done some drywall work over the years but my major finishing practice has been autobody, steel fitting and wood fitting. It's pretty amusing and even scary to go back and look at some of the work I've done in the past 40 years!
