will a head off of a WC bolt onto a D-17? cant seem to get the D-17 to quit spewing water into the exhaust port and i still have the WC engine i took out of the tractor.

If it does fit you will have very weak compression and may not run unless you install the wc flat top pistons. Im not a big allis man but I think the WD45/D-17 heads are flat with dished pistons the wc is opposite.

the wc head will fit. they were all flat heads. no combustion cambers. If I remember right there was a early head that had less head bolts.

thanks guys!! got the WC head off, started cleaning it up. what do i need to salvage off the WC block? i already pulled the oil lines and fittings, it has a magneto still on it bot the housing it bolts to is missing a plug? is the oil pan the same? the oil filter housing looks different, the D-17 has bigger lines coming out of the bottom of it. do i need to pull the bottom end out? will the crank be of use for anything if it salvageable? the pistons we full of water and muck...
