Picked up a cool machine yesterday. The backhoe is way,way too heavy for the tractor. Can't steer with it attached. While moving it in the video the front of the tractor was strapped down, otherwise the front end comes off the ground. Tractor didn't run when we got it,had most of a Fairbanks mag on it,we swapped to a distributor, cleaned the carb,new ignition wire and switch. Checked the valves and had it running. Unfortunately the throttle lever and part of the linkage is missing. Someone rigged up a handful of springs working against one another to make the governor 'work'.......it's either wide open or slow idle .

I had one it was a cute little tractor. I was going to use it for lawn rolling but it didn’t turn very sharp and steered hard!!

So glad you saved this thing. I had one of those FM magnetos you may remember me asking about- from the research I could find, they are excellent mags and parts are readily available from Brillman among others. FM made replacement mags (that of course they claimed were better than IH factory mags) for IH tractors, plus all the mags for Allis Chalmers and many, many other makers.
