I bought this Massey Furgeson 2135 (industrial version of the 135) as non-running. I'm glad the solution to get he running was fairly simple, but not the purpose of my question, just that I wasn't able to test hydraulics before I bought it. I link to tinker and learn, but I don't know a lot about hydraulics.
The bucket lift and tilt are slow to respond, but they will go. To lift the bucket up, I have to do several up and down motions, it will go up a bit faster and further than the last time. It will eventually go all the way up. The tilt isn't as stubborn but it's just slow to respond to pulling the lever. Once the lift goes all the way up, I can go ground to up like it should. If I drive the tractor from one spot to another after doing this repetition to get it up, I have to start over going up and down again. If I have a load in the bucket and traveling with it lifted, and I want to get it higher for whatever reason, it won't. I have to go down a bit in order to get to go higher again.
I drained and replaced the hydraulic oil when I bought it. Replaced the filter. There was quite a bit of water in the system.
With the hydraulic arms extended, everything seems in good condition, no scrapes or gauges. I have not found any leaks anywhere.
I live in Wisconsin, so cold climate hasn't seemed to have caused an issue that I can tell of having water in it freezing.
Does this sound like a pump problem? Cylinder problem?
Thank you!
