Help finding an A oil ring

don't know where the best place is to look for a used oil ring for a 46 A, don't know of any old tractor salvage places around here, it is a standard bore 1/4 inch oil ring with the holes I will post a picture of old one if anyone has one or knows where I could get one my email is open would rather not change the whole set thank you

I will refrain from commenting on using old rings, and simply suggest you contact Dave Reed.

Typically, he will sell you what you want, one ring or a set.

Hastings may sell you them separate too.

I'm not positive but I thought those with the slots (ventilated)oil rings also use an expanded behind them ?
Be a good question to ask whomever you get the rings from.

It looks like it's the size of a hula hoop--the engine must be huge!

Should be 5 1/2" dia. IIRC

Tisco is a good source also. u will need the actual diameter, so measure before u call. I agree with the other poster as to "used oil rings" trust us, might as well use what u have as to used rings that most probably will not seat.

thanks everyone for your input I am in the process of lookin for a good block my cylinders are not the best, once I get that I will be getting new rings all around money is an issue as I bought this tractor about 6 months ago and I have everything painted thus far and had too get lot of used parts too
