Help identify these

Hey I was hoping someone could help me to figure out what these items are? These were things left in my grandparents house. I will try and attach the pics, hopefully they work.

I think the wooden things are for a loom but not sure. Oh and I know what the ice skates are, just had them all together.

Thanks

I believe the double bladed thingy is a food chopper. The medical device is an old object de quackery, might be worth some coin, on EBAY, or that show, Oddities. Loom parts sounds right, for the pieces, at the very top. Got any alternate views of the last piece, on the right, bottom picture?

The electronic device is a high voltage generator. The glass tubes are installed on the end of the cable, and high voltage sparks jump across the tube to the face of the tube. The idea was to rub over the skin, giving little shocks which were supposed to be invigorating to the skin. All kinds of health benefits were claimed.

Yup, pic 1 is weaving supplies, the little boats held small bobbins of thread for weaving on a loom.

The round spools are not like the covered one's I'm used to, but could be for bobbin lace or Knipling. Knipling would also have a 5 lb bag of sand and a bunch of pins with it. Or some other sort of lace making/ weaving, certainly coulda been used with the loom in some way also.

The dog bone looking ones are shuttles like the little boats for winding thread or material on and sending through the loom.

I'm not familiar with how the paddle with holes is used.

The medcal device looks like something one would no longer want to turn on for fear of what it actually does to someone, but something the Pickers or Storage Wars folks would love to find and sell for big bucks.

the first left bottom, looks like the paddle, the teachers used to swat your rear-end when you screwed up in class, 40+ yrs ago before teacher were unable to touch you, like today rules...[lets not debate todays school laws], it made me a respectable person...

I can get more pics tomorrow. I am still wondering what the cast iron pieces are. The one is some sort of wrench I believe, the other I have no idea. The tag that is on it was torn off where it might have told what it is.

I did a search about the generator thing. Said they were a cure all for everything. Lots of them on _bay.

Thanks guys.

Top left pic one are Boat shuttles for a hand loom
Yarn/thread is wound on the internal spike and unwinds as it is thrown across the loom between the warp threads.
The spools are yarn/thread spools also often used on rug weaving looms.
Bottom right is a yarn/thread organizer that is used to keep each color in order for hand braiding, or other length sorting action.
Bottom right are also shuttles but require unwinding before passing through Warp of loom. Simple to make and cumbersome to use.

The machine is as described below a quack medicine device of Zero effect other than possible electro magnetic radiation and electric shock. Fun to look at.

The black iron tools could be a saw set (guess.)
Meat mincer/dicer would be the bladed instrument.

The skates are not adjustable for length (We have 30 pair of them, my wife owns a figure skating academy) they have two differing methods of clamping to shoes. The nickle plated ones are a bit more desirable. Circa 1880 to 1920. Google US figure skating Museum to see much more.

The flat wire handled thing (opinion) is used to separate solid things out of a tub or barrel by manipulating the handles and pushing it up against the side to lift and allow liquid to drain back. Jim

The "S" shaped item looks to be a latch for a window shudder. Of couse, not know the size of any of them does not help. The other case item looks to be a wrench of some type or a hook for lifting the lid on a "Dutch Oven".

Joe,

The item on the left in pictures two and three with the double blade is definitely a vegetable chopper. My mother used one to chop cabbage to make cole slaw and sauerkraut. I suppose it could have been used on other vegetables too, but I only remember mom using it on cabbage.

Not familiar with the term / word but the paddle looking thing may have had little wire nails in it for Combing the wool separating it to be spun ??? (Just a guess)
