Help me pick a tractor.

The club I run with is trying to get another class going. I'm thinking of building a tractor but not sure on what to start with. The class will be 6500-7500 turbo. The basics are 12 MPH, must use stock castings, stock RPM, no water injection, T/A or power shift OK, 40 yrs. old. Other than that it is pretty much open. My employer is leaning on me to go Deere, may be able to get some $$$ if I do. Open to any and all suggestions.

I like all brands of tractors, but to make it easy on yourself, IH is the answer. The cost will be more reasonable, and the T/A is great to have on a tough track to stay on top of the turbo. I hate to see a class dominated by one color, but there's reasons for it.

Oliver/White with Cummins,

Farmall 706 with a 466.

Or the tried and true, 3010 gas rearend
married to a 4020.

How do you pass off a 466 as a stock block? Just to clarify I meant tractors that can run 6500 and 7500 lbs.

I had thought of the 4020/3010 route, could call it a 4000, but didn't know if it could make 6250 lbs.

Hard to go wrong with a White setup. They used every engine! Otherwise I'd say be different and use a Ford. They look good and had great heads. Old Case diesels have big options too.
