are missing from the bag. It is Purina nurse chow 100. I need to feed a calf and the darn mixing directions are not on or in the bag. What part replacer to what parts water. 10 day old calf.

Dave,it should have a cup in the bag.If not the amount you want to use is 10 oz. dry weight per 2 quarts of water.Twice daily, morning and night.Hope this helps you out.

Big un, that twice daily will put a pot belly on them. I do it myself, but to keep them from getting that pot belly they need to drink less several times a day. That is how it works with the cow.

Twice a day may not be best for the calf but it sure makes life better for me that way. I just wish I had time to feed a calf day and night like the mother cow does.

As Big um said........ The bag should have a cup in it. One cup per bottle of water (2 qts) fed at 8 to 10% of body weight split into 2 feedings.

A 90lb holstine would get 2 full bottles (8 lbs) per day. A 60 lb Jersey only needs 2 bottles 2/3 full per day.

Yes John, it is nearly impossible to feed them like they should be. No substitute for a good mommy. I use to raise the ones who lost their momma, but never seemed to amount to anything, so I just sell them right off now and don't have to fool with them.
