Help with a simple D-17 question....

Hello;

I need to work on the snap coupler bell on my 63 D-17, and want it off to make it easier.
The bottom (traction booster) pin came out good enough, but the top pin(hinge) still won't budge. I am soaking it for a few days now.
So my question IS: This shaft/pin DOES COME OUT, right?
Thanks

Texas Denny;

Thanks for the information. I have been soaking the shaft with aerokroil for a few days now, tapping the shaft and it still is tight.

Any ideas or tricks you know that can get it done?

Guess it will take some time to get it loose!

I wonder if you bent something. I have taken a few of those off and have not had any problem like you mention. One that I remember was a little tricky, the pin had a bit of a ridge in it. I was able to get it to twist a little bit and got it out.
