Keep in mind that hunting rights can average $30 per acre per year, or about the same as one mowing per year.Especially since I mowed it three times! LOL

He's not mowing his lawn, he's asking about hogging through 3 to 7 foot tall God only knows what, hiding unknown obstacles that could reek havoc on man and machine. .30$ an acre
Again I did not hunt and did not negotiate any hunting priviledges.Keep in mind that hunting rights can average $30 per acre per year, or about the same as one mowing per year.
I am neither a hunter or a gun owner so help me out here. What is the thrill of shooting your rifle on someone else's property versus shooting it on your own property?Shooting on unimproved property is not worth much. Running equipment, you need to calculate what your time is work and what amount the equipment is worth per hour. $100 per acre seems to be cheap. Was the $350 for 10 acres or 30 acres, you mentioned you had mowed 3 times?
If you are in pursuit of a specific game and you have none and he has an abundance that would justify the want!I am neither a hunter or a gun owner so help me out here. What is the thrill of shooting your rifle on someone else's property versus shooting it on your own property?
Oh yes, I can understand that but he said he is just shooting his rifle. If you are in pursuit of a specific game and you have none and he has an abundance that would justify the want!
He has said he only shoots there, not hunts on it. That indicates either he doesn't have land enough, or it is not located where he can shoot on his own land. Either way he is getting use of the land, which has some value. If you are in pursuit of a specific game and you have none and he has an abundance that would justify the want!
You did mention you have shooting privileges on his land, that is worth something.Again I did not hunt and did not negotiate any hunting priviledges.
I assume you are target shooting are some type of trap/skeet shooting and don’t have enough land or are in a neighborhood where you can not do this on your own landAgain I did not hunt and did not negotiate any hunting priviledges.
I am so nieve when it comes to guns.He has said he only shoots there, not hunts on it. That indicates either he doesn't have land enough, or it is not located where he can shoot on his own land. Either way he is getting use of the land, which has some value.
I don't think either side is 100% right here. Things should have been agreed on first. Were three mowings what the friend requested or what was done by choice? Payment after each mowing would been my choice. At least then the difference in value would have been know before getting into it so deep.
Target practice or skeet shooting are a couple possibilities. Target shooting is common with many people, including those who reload their own ammo. There may be a good-sized earth berm, which can act as a backstop behind targets, that he takes advantage of. Random shooting of rifles and handguns into the air can lead to bullets and shot falling in unintended places. What goes up is going to come down somewhere. People far from a shooter have been injured and damage done by such a practice. Shotguns with bird/skeet shot is not as high a risk of such happening.I am so nieve when it comes to guns.
I guess the confusion is I don't know what "shoots there" means. What is he shooting at? Or is he shooting in the air?
Doesn't seem like you need much land to shoot in the air.
I'm not trying to be argumentive. I know how the term shooting is applied to hunting but he is not hunting. This is something else.
Skeet shooting lots of fun. Couple of places near here that offer a clay bird course. Everybody calls it golf with a shotgun.Target practice or skeet shooting are a couple possibilities. Okay I'm starting to catch on. So evidently you need bigger area than 11 acres to do target or skeet shooting? So he does it on the neighbors. Neighbor must have more than 11 acres. What is the minimum required acres to do target or skeet shooting?Target practice or skeet shooting are a couple possibilities. depends somewhat on state law and how far from a dwelling you are at least in NYS and OH that is part of it.Okay I'm starting to catch on. He has not told us how much land he personally has, what type of shooting he does, or his reason for shooting on the friend's 10-12 acres.Okay I'm starting to catch on. You must read the post better. This is not about a 15' mower, or a 90 HP Tractor, or a bid from a guy who doesn't want the work, et cetera. I'd figure you burn 3 Gal. an hour, so you must be hard on your machines! Practice, practice, practice, and be careful as you learn how to mow properly! Safety first! Good luck.Do not and will not mow anything except my own property. That said, i figure it cost me a minimum of $50 hour to run my 90 hp tractor and 15 ft batwing mowing my own. Open, level ground in medium growth i can easily mow 3 acres plus an hour. This would be for fuel and wear and tear. IF i was doing it for other people i would not consider anything less than $125 hour. And then i would almost want a guarantee fron person that they would cover any type of tire damage that occurred.
