We bought a used Hesston 5540 baler in early spring. It had been gone thru with new belts, etc.
Works really good on larger hay, but having trouble on shorter, finer hay. The twine wraps too many times on the side before it will get over to where it cuts. We are wasting a lot of twine, and it ends up falling off the sides. It is not electric tie, and my husband holds the button down constanly, trying to move it quicker to cut. Anyone who knows how to solve this problem, we would appreciate it. Tying is really the only problem we have had except a lot of loose hay gets thru the belts cutting finer hay like bermuda grass.
