Don't like the MF name on the decal I assume ?

Know your feeling as I was raised with IH and still "bleed" IH Red ! However I got over the Case/IH deal fairly quickly after I thought it thru. If Tenneco hadn't put Case and IH together, two struggling companys at the time, then both names might only exist in our minds and collector magazines today.

Now we have the big three AGCO, CASE/IH, and Deere and they have saved many of the names you and I love.

Just my two cents, Bill

Yes that's true I don't really have anything against agco local dealer is awesome I just hate the hesston buy Massey name there just using it try and make a big name for MF tractors so they think well everybody likes hesston let's call em MF and they will swallow the tractors to.

Hesston actually has not been its own brand for quite a few years now, probably ten or more. The hay products were branded as AGCO then more recently Massey Ferguson. Only in the last few years has AGCO begun to heavily promote the Hesston trademark and heritage even though it is not a corporate brand name. Kind of like CaseIH putting a Steiger emblem on their 4WD tractors. Makes a lot of sense, certainly more than phasing out the Hesston name altogether which was the plan at one time. It never made much sense to me why they would want to dump a name that has such strong brand recognition but fortunately logic prevailed.

I like how there name is supposedly to mean allis gleaner corp yet you can't even buy an orange tractor anymore you can't buy a white brand tractor but there company has such a strong heritage . Then a name they do keep they pin MF on to it .

I agree with you, Bill, to a point, but, sadly, do you see ANY Case or IH bloodline/heritage in today's FIAT products? (Besides RED paint.)

You guys are hurting me!
Leaving out the Ford/New Holland part of CNH!

Because Massey-Ferguson is a well-known name outside North America while Allis/Gleaner/White were not. Lots of AGCO's sales are non-NA, and the European officers who now run the company went with that.

MF were the number one selling tractor worldwide for decades. The AG market is a lot bigger than just N. America. MF has a big global presence. I think even the Cat Challengers are branded MF. The rubber tire Challengers are yellow MF's.

Unless it has changed in the past year or so...I believe MF still is the leading brand in tractor sales globally. Hesston makes some fine products and MF still make some fine tractors so from a company standpoint I could see tying the two names togther.
