hey david in whales

just wondering what are the lawn & garden tractors like over in your side of the world?. do they import usa brands. like simplicity, cub cadet, JD, toro, or the crapy MTD"s ?.

Hi Perry;
Yes we get all makes & models here, from the cheap & nasty to the semi professional. The grass here is very wet & lush, so collecting is the problem. The old fashioned "blow it up a tube to the collector" doesnt work and are not common now.

There are two styles that work best:-
central discharge with inbuilt sweeper/collector on the rear.
or
conta-rotating blades which blow the grass up a wide short tube over the rear axle into the collector.

The cheaper models include MTD & Yardman, & Castel Garden made in Italy. Mid range includes Toro, Countax, Westwood, & Cub Cadet. Semi-pro are Kubuta & John Deere.

Mulching is starting to happen here particularly with out-front rotaries.

Like everything you get what yo pay for, but many makes have cheap and better quality models in their range.

I have a question about some pics you posted a while back. They were the old Celtic(?) church and a Bleeding Yew tree. I emailed a link to the page to a few people, but they couldn't get the pics to load. Are the pics still online somewhere, for our viewing pleasure?

Thank you,
Anthony
