I had a coon getting into my shop and knocking things over and really making a mess.It even took a dump in my tool cart on top of my 400 grit sandpaper.I used a trap like you buy at most hardware stores but the coon was too smart for loose bait, dogfeed, popcorn, and ect.He would get everything out no problem without tripping the gate.So I made a container out of a short piece of square 2 inch metal tubing.I taped the one end up with duct tape, filled with dogfeed, then taped half of the otherside leaving a little gap for the aroma to escape.I put the tubing all the way in the back of the trap and turned the open end toward the wall with the end of the trap against the wall.It was heavy enough he couldn't use his paw to turn it and the direction I had it pointing he HAD to cross the trigger flap. All of the trouble I went through, this got him.Make his food hard to get so he will HAVE to work at it to get it and you'll get him.Good luck
