I've been bitten by the crawler bug. How hard would it be to add 3 pt to an HG? It has pto and the flat belt pulley. My first inclination is to pull the pulley and add a hydraulic pump for an add-on short stroke cylinder for the lift links or can it be retro fitted with stock parts without getting a migraine? Any thoughts?

As far as adding hydraulics goes, there are many HGs around with front-mounted, engine-driven hydraulic pumps, so the parts are available. Any HG with a dozer or loader will have it, and that makes the hydraulics live.

As to the hitch? Make your own, or find a three-point hitch off a Terractrac and it will bolt on.

I have both a factory late HG and a OC3 three points not for sell but if close you could look at them and maybe copy. Both would work with PTO . I thought about producting them but have not seen a demand at what it would cost I also have Terra Trac and Case three points and i see no way they would work on a HG. email is open

My neighbor took the remnants of three point hitches from two Terractracs and put them onto his HGs. Did it take work? yes. But since he was scrapping the crawlers anyway, he made use of the parts. The advantage was the lift parts were correctly sized. The same could of been done with parts from many makes of tractors.

He also used the front hydraulic pump setup from Anderson that makes the rear hitch work much nicer since the hydraulics work all the time, and doesn't stop when you push in the clutch.

I guess with time and a tourch you can make anything work. The HG i have is i believe a Anderson set up that they made for the HG as it has the same pump and tank as a anderson blade and this machine i got from the original owner that bought it new used it for farming and never had a blade on it.

I suspect that anybody that wants a 3 point hitch on a small crawler is going to have to make it, unless they get real lucky. Now adays, I can't imagine anyone being willing to sell a hitch setup off a complete crawler unless priced real high. There are couple of Terratracs near me with three point hitches and one with a winch setup. All priced way out of sight - as least for my wallet.

Hansen-Lynn of California made a TPL Hydra Ease 3pt system for the Cletrac HG. The pump was driven off the crank-pin on the front of the engine, I presume that they assumed that you had electric starting.

Hey guys I have a category 2 three point for sale. It is a Gannon heavy duty complete with rockshaft and lift arms. It has 3 hydraulic circuits; one to raise the arms, one for tilt (implement landing); and one for the hydraulic third link (turnbuckle). It has a heavy bulkhead mounting plate. Its new, never been mounted, sitting in my shop. Was going to mount on dozer, but traded for large one. Email if interested.
