hit and miss

my good friend aquired a hit and miss engine and it has a tag all we can make out is the name or town???? EUCLAIRE is this the manufacturer or is this the town it was built in can any one help

If that"s EAU CLAIRE, there"s a town (city?) by that name in Wisc (on Fed 53 just a little south of Bloomer).
I hate getting out maps; I always get lost in looking at all the odd names of the little towns.
If nothing definite comes up, put this on Stationary Engines here and/or on Antique Gas Engines on smokstak. Good luck.

Check out "american Gasoline Engines" by C.H. Wendel on page 60 it mentions a 1914 Keller engine built in Eau Claire andlater in Bloomer at the Bloomer Engine Works. More information on page 145.Hope this helps you out. .
