I spoke to HOBO day before yesterday. He was at a motel about an hours away from his home and shop so he can be close to his wife. His wife has had a serious stroke after starting chemo for cancer treatment. He told me she is partially paralized on one side and haveing problems speaking etc.

That is the reason he is not posting in the past days.

I had called him to ask his advice on a vehicle I am working on and even with his problems he had the courtesy to return my call.

Thanks for posting this info, Zane!!
Was wondering what was keeping him away from the forum. Not really the news, That we like to hear, but our thoughts will be with his wife and him, through this time of trial!!!
Wishing the BEST for his wife!!!

Zane, thanks for posting. So sorry to hear of the difficult times they are going thru. Our thought and prayers are with them both.

Thank You Zane..
Hobo: I have seen someone very close to me survive and thrive after stroke that destroyed 40% of her brain. She struggled the rest of her years to get words out, but kept getting better and better at it. If not for the frustration of difficulties in conversation (that she was well aware of), they were very good years for her. I'll hope and pray your wife does as well my Mother did. That first stroke was in 1985 - she passed in 2009 at the age of 86 - the victim of yet another stroke. Best wishes to both of you - I hope for both of you that the doctors perform yet another medical miracle.

Thanks much guys

I am taking a few days off away from her so will get a few days of work done at the shop,,,.... She want tell me how she really feels,,, want wake me up are call a nurse cuzz she does not want to disturb me while I sleep...

Her cancer started out in her female parts,,, she had a hysterectomy,,, the cancer had already found its way to the Omentum stage 4 (google it),,, She took 3 hits of radiation it got worst,,, she took one round of chemo and a week later had a stroke.... The day she had the stroke she spent that day in the hospital cuzz she really felt bad (local horse-pital said her potassium and sodium was low) Thank god that's the only day she went their for anything,,, she came home a few hours later lost her right side arm and leg movement along with having a hard time talk'n.... Talking has got better,,, she's been moved to Rehab in the hospital today,,, her next 2 chemo treatments are back on track... I hope the chemo does its thang are the outlook is not good...

If it all works out I will grantee ya I will know were every bit of paper work/info/insurance/finance/bank info etc is are anything she looks after is.... I can deal with the health issues its the simple every day things she looked after that's drives me up the wall to were I can not think...

She had the hysterectomy at UNC Chapel Hill its a good hospital,,, when she had her stoke she was at her sisters house near Pinehurst NC,, I have always hears Moore Regional in Pinehurst was as good as it gits,,, so far we are very happy with them...

Hobo: I'm praying for your wife and you. Having fought
metastatic prostate cancer for almost 5 years now, I have
turned over my problem to God and the Cleveland Clinic - I
do my part and they both do theirs and that's all any of us can
do. God bless both of you and I pray for your wife's recovery
to the max extent possible.

Hobo, I'm so sorry to hear of your wife's condition - I can only imagine how stressful this must be for you. Stay strong and rest assured there are many prayers being offered up on your behalf.

May God Bless

Speaking from experience regarding a stroke (I had one nearly 6 years ago), and while many talk about the warning signs, etc, I can honestly say that I had no idea what was wrong with me until an ER doctor told me 3 days later, and no one around me recognized it either. Thankfully I recovered quickly, and for the most part lead a normal life. I was 46 at the time. I think the main thing that helped me was a good Dr in the ER that recognized it quickly, and a good therapist as she had me back to work in just 3 weeks time. Not saying I was 100% in that 3 weeks, but I was willing and able to go back and my boss was a great help as well. You and your wife will be in our thoughts and prayers during this trying time.

I hope everything works out good Hobo.

I feel like you are a true friend of mine. You have helped me so many times when I was stumped.

A good woman is more valuable than gold or jewels.
