HOLLAND TRANSPLANTER??

Depends on the drive gears you have installed & the number of pockets on the chain. I think my manual is handy if you want to give me that info I'll look it up for you.

"IF" I remember my tobacco setting and it was used for tobacco before.. around 14 to 16 inches..give or take an inch or two. As Stephen said, the sprocket you use will determine the spacing.

Used a one row Holland transplanter for tomatoes for years every other finger for tomatoes put plants in two feet apart. When we planted Spanish onions or peppers we used every one and that planted them one foot apart. Always like to see the tomatoes planted deep as the bottom two leaves in the dirt, gave the plant some resistance to the wind.

I have a Mechanical transplanter basicly the same as a Holland give either of them a call they'll get you a manual which will give all the info you need to set up your planter and all the repair part you mightneed in the future.

(quoted from post at 09:03:59 02/28/10) if i plant tomatos with every other finger how far apart will my plants be?

If you contact Holland they'll give you a chart (as stated before). If you can't get the desired spacing with the sprockets you have (I couldn't) they're amazingly inexpensive (or were a coupla years ago). They sent me an owners manual, parts list & even new decals so I could paint it ALL FREE before I even ordered any parts. Really nice folks there!
