How Does An LP Tractor Filter The Fuel?

I imagine L.P. gas is pretty clean, but do LP tractors have a filter? Do particulates just sink to the bottom of the tank? I'll admit I know very little about LP tractors, but I'm trying to change that. Thanks folks.

Yeah,

Most of 'em use a pressed brass filter not unlike those old Chevy "stone" filters of days gone by.

Catches most of the large rocks and small birds. Rest of the crap just sinks to the bottom of the tank. It's that "crud" that sets up the smell too.

Small Birds?? - I do have a truck on LP and they do make a filter, buy it at your local LP place

Most have a little filter much like a small diesel fuel filter, be it foam, paper, ceramim, brass or string ball type. About the only difference is that the filter media and housing are made to take full tank pressure which can be as much as 200 psi.

Check out filters and combo filter fuel locks at propanecarbs.com I thought it was methyl mercaptan that made LP and natural gas stink but not sure what they make it out of ? Maybe dead Nebraska birds? Some regulator vaporizer units have a screen in them too but if just running on vapor most times you won't need a filter. The filters are usually a screen or several thin metal disks together and inside filter bowl after a while you will clean out lots of small black rubber like balls and nasty black stuff that settles out of it. Same nasty black oily stuff settles eventually to bottom of your tank too.
