How to make Super H pull

How do I make a Farmall Super H pull better? I am looking for how to get more RPM's out of it, and maybe a picture of different hitch set ups. I have been pulling JD's for many years, and have these figured out (sort of).

Thanks!

Matt

It's best to know the rules as to the division you're going to pull in and also what weight(s) you're gonna pull at before you start altering your tractor. A Super H, in contrast to the sorta puny regular H is a fairly potent tractor in standard tune if running at it's best. Just like a John Deere you increase RPM's by monkeying around with the govenor after you've got all you can get from shortening the throttle linkage.

The "monkeying with the governor" part is what I am not familiar with on this one.

I am very up to date on the division rules, and the principles of keeping the hitch high and short, and maximizing weight placement. I was just trying to see if anyone would be willing to share useful tips on how to tweak a little bit more out of this.

Email me for info. Pulled super H from 3500 up to 10,000 lbs. Granted I have a low/low but I can give you a couple quick tricks to be up near the top.

Take cover off the side of governor. There is a spring that can be replaced with a stiffer one. Must also be in good mechanical condition. High speed adjustment will be obvious with the cover off.

Pull plate off of side of govner you will see a set screw that hits side of govner for more RPMS for more shorten for less make it longer.it.

You jack it up and put a green tractor under it..............

Im just getting my Super H all dialed in after 3 years pulling it. I now pull off of the rear loop instead of the drawbar. I havejust started doing this this year and I have noticed a huge difference. Also my tires were brand new and now they are finally broken in. Do you pull on dirt or blacktop mainly?
