I have a tractor with a John Deere Quick hitch (TY16042) Category 11 . Has anybody used a Hydraulic Top-Link center link. I would think it would save a lot of Manual center link adjustment when change quipment.

This is where I saw it. Would like to know the Pro and Con on this.

Case had them to use on the 480 and 580 industrial tractors they also had hydraulic lift link on one arm. Was great tractor for grading and changing from different pieces of lanscape eqiptment. We also made a setup on a Massey 35 tractor. Ive seen just the cylinder for sale in some cataloge ??

I saw the same thing and was wondering if, for my 4020, a swivel would be needed where it connects to the tractor (like the original top link), or if the hydraulic top link has enough side sway built into it.

HI GUYS;
I have made my own hydraulic cylinder top link and have used them for the last 15 years. First on my 4020 for loading round bales on a flat bed wagon, carrying 21 square bales in stooks to feed cattle or setting the 3pt. hitch plow while plowing. I have one on the 4020, one on the 4520 controlling the angle of the D6 cat dozer blade I have mounted on it.That cylinder has a 16 inch stroke so I can go in reverse or go forward and do back blading. I have never been stuck in the ditch while pushing snow right down into it and our ditches are 4-5 feet deep. Once you lift the blade the weight of it helps you to climb right back out. I also have a 4650 with a D8, 15 foot on it. I even put a cylinder in place of the top link on my 420T. That cylinder with a quick hitch mounted to it means you can pull yourself out when you are stuck. Drop the 3pt. , push the cylinder out and chain to something solid,tree, other tractor etc. Raise the 3pt. suck in the cylinder. you will move backwards. Depends how far in you got yourself to how long it to get out.One of my other tractors with the blade sunk in makes a pretty good anchor. I never use a regular top link any more.
