hydrostatic transmission

Is it possible to convert my Simplicity 6216 manual transmission into a hydrostatic transmission? I notice that the higher models in the 7000's come with hydrostatic trans and even electric deck lift. I like my tractor because of all the attachments I have and would not want to by them all over. They can be expensive. But if I can find a new or used transmission for my 6216 I would consider installing it. Is this too much of a major overall? Thanks, MR

I think it would be a very major job unless the whole axle assembly was interchangable between the manual and hydro transmission. Hooking up the linkages for the hydro trans could be tricky to get it right. Find out if your model had hydrostatic trans as an option. Dave
