I got banned!

I got banned from another website because they could not handle the truth! Some woose moderator with Napoleans disease. Any way they have my scren name and password and when I go to the site they allready know it's me. How can i get back in and sign up as a new user? Do I need to clean up somthing on my computer or reset my modem for a new IP?

Wouldn't signing up as a new user be kinda uhunethical. After all.. it sounds like they banned you for 'cause'. Remember it's their site and they can make up rules.. even ones that make you play real PC.. truth or not. if it were me, and I wanted back in.. I'd email the site administrator / moderator and see what could be worked out.. perhaps an easy save face for both parties can be reached.

I tried but they have one user that people think hung the moon. He came up with a so called independent test to smear some aftermarket products. Was not real world testing or consistant with others findings. Now he is soliciting money from forum users for his next so called test. He clearly stated in his first test he was on a crusade against the aftermarket.
I quoted what he said in the first test and asked his motivation for the new test. How dare I question sombody thats soliciting money for thier next crusade! So I got banned. Discussion forums should tolerate discussion,opinions,dummys making a comment or asking a dumb question.I hope this one does not change.

If the mods won't reconsider on an issue such as that.. than ,.. if it were me.., I'd move on.. doesn't sound like a place to get good advice from anyway..

I agree with SouNdguy, I wouldn’t want back in. However, you asked, “How can I get back in and sign up as a new user?” The most common way for web sites to track you is with cookies. If you delete your cookies, there is a good chance they won’t “know” you.
I’ll assume you are using Internet Explorer. Open your browser > Select Tools > Internet Options > and Delete Cookies. This may solve your problem. It will also remove any and all other stored usernames and passwords you may have.

You can remove just the cookies for that site if you need to save your other ones. You could also use another machine at a different location incase they are blocking your IP or you can use an anonymous program they cost a few bucks a year but work real well. I tested one out and no one could even tell what country I was in, but my guess is they will just end up banning you again since you are not likely to sit by quietly. I agree with the ideal of moving on to a more fair and balanced site.

Thanks gents it was the cookies thing I could't remember but your right about movin on. I got what I originally needed from the site and the rest is just a waste. Thanks again.

yeh some sites get too much into off topic discussions and if you do not walk lockstep with them ,then you are against them. They seem real popular because most people are either with them or dont open their mouths. If you state a differing opinion or are not one of the "chosen few"then your language,religion,etc will bring h*ll down on you. If you check in on the site in a few months you'll find nothings changed or a few years.And still the same old o.t. discusions so they can "test" everyone there so they can figure who to let into the clique and who not to. lol. Lots of them here in tractorland or probably auto or anything else online. .

I agree with all the advice that many have said so far. Again I would talk to the admin and see what can be worked out as it sounds as though you still might want to post there.
It also depends how they banned you. Being an admin on a large automotive site they can ban you in several ways.
1. just delete you from the system
2. ban your user name.
3.Ban your IP address. Now If they banned your IP address it's going to be tough. If it was just a regular ban just delete cookies and reregister.
The problem with this is if there a good admin and they know you well most of the time they can tell your back just by the way you post. It's sort of a finger print and in time it usually gives you away. If you do get back in and you start arguing again they will only do it again and probably do it with an IP ban. If you get in just lay low be respectful and things usually have a way of working out. good luck and I hope it all works out for you :~)
