Have a peice of add. lit. with a pic. of a I.H. 101 on it. Squareback, operator plateform on the left side. Looks to be an 8 or 10 ft. header on it. Is this the same series as the 91,203, 303 and so on? No cab.

The 101 was made in the late 50s,I think the first was made in '56 The 101 was IH's answer to the JD 55.The 151 was the 'big boy' of that series

My dad had a 123sp.(late 40s)kind of an oddball.Seems like IH tried to make a self-propelled out of a pull-type.

Delta Red,

The 123 SP was IHC's first self propelled combine. It was not converted from a pull type but was a completely new design. It was introduced in 1942. The in 1949 125 SP a slightly improved version of the 123 was introduced. Both of these models had the engine on the lower left side which created a balance problem in muddy conditions. The 141, which had the engine centered on top, was introduced in 1954, followed in 1956 by the 101. The line was further expanded in 1959 with the smaller 91 and the larger 151 and 181 models. During this era the 91 was the smallest and the 181 was the largest. The 03 series were introduced in 1962 consisting of the 203, 303, 403, and 503 combines.

The 101 was made in East Moline Ill by IH, it evolved into 303 then 615, had a 30" rasp cyl & 3 straw walkers, all 101 & early 303 had a BD220 gas 6 cyl, later serial were C221, 151 was next bigger combine, evolved to 403/715 with 40" + 4 walkers, 181 made also, evolved to 503. 91/93 came from Canada IH. Not much interchanged 91/93 to 101/303.

The 123 might not have been a converted pull type but it used a lot of parts from the pull type combines. Engine and drivetrain came from the truck line.

ok i guess this is as good as any place to ask. their is a guy on the buffalo new york craigs list looking for a corn head for a 141. what models would fit it? what other machines used the same one?
