i have a locked up g160 motor and i"m wondering if a g149(readily available parts) or any other gas motor, would fit in with out any problems and if so were i might be able to find a running motor. Also how much would a good shaped I600 with loader be worth when running.
Thanks,
Nolan

Nolan,
Can't say anything about the value but do have the g149 & g160 engines in ag tractors (D14 &D15).
The 149 would probally bolt up but I would prefer the extra power of the 160. You can get an engine kit for those from your AGCO dealer. Could your problem be with a starter thats hung up or maybe the hydralics doing something funny? Could it be water in the exhaust. Have you removed the plugs to see if it will turnover? That unit probally has a shuttle clutch. Could it be in gear? Hope you find something simple. Dale

If the tractor that you have is an I600, it will cross over to a D-15 series II, which uses the 160 cu in motor. This motor will not interchange with the older 149 cubic inch motors, as it is 2 inches wider at the frame rails and bell housing. Check to make sure that the motor you have is truly a 160, it will have an oval muffler, and the hood tin will also have an oval hole. If the hole in the tin started out round, and was butchered to oval, look everything over twice, and check the serial number both on the tractor, and motor.
