So, how is thet ice treating everyone this year? Sure am glad I don't have stock to deal with out in it.
Got about 1/8 inch and it keeps raining it back off. lucky so far!!!

We got 8" of snow over the past few days. Haven't seen folks in this good of mood for a long, long time.

Last moisture we got that amounted to anything was in June sometime. We'll take rain, snow, ice, sleet, whatever. :>)

Doesn't sound good for our area (central KS). Calling for 3/4" to 1" of ice. We are a little dry also, but ice is the last thing we need. Had about 1/4" of it Saturday.

Had about a good half inch of ice here in east central Missouri. We were lucky not to lose power at home, a lot of folks around here have, and still don't have it back.

About 6 inches of snow on top of some ice. Couple of degrees below 0--F. Havn't heard the rescue trucks go out yet this morning..maybe they learned to slow dowm Sat. and Sun.

Geeze!

No sence having tractors unless they have something to do. :>(

But yes, guess I do need to get some heavies to the salebarn on Wednesday. So, I get to sort cattle today.

'Spose if I ask 'em nice, they'll just "take a number and wait"? :>)

It arrives in June and then goes away in November, actually up here, it is only summer for about 20 minutes in early July.

We had the granddaddy of all ice storms up here in 1998. Ice Storm '98. 22 degrees and pouring down rain for five days straight. Five (5) inches of radial ice accumulation. Power out for one to six weeks. They had to replace 20,000 phone poles. And we have the tenth anniversary coming up. As long as you don't get anything like that. Ice storms are the worst that winter has to give.

We have about 1/2-3/4 of and inch of ice on every thing here at the lake of the ozarks in Missouri. At least we have power and no tree limbs into the roof so far. I don't plan on do all that much as far as getting out today. I will probably see if I can get my new gas tank on the truck later. I went out and filled the wood stove up in the shop so it can warm up then I'll drop the tank. Funny how yesterday I was working on something else on the truck and it ran out of gas when I was doing so, so I guess this is the best time to install the new gas tank

We got 1/2-1" of ice here.It was worse just to the south in the Lamar-Joplin,MO area.Never did lose power here.

We also had a tremendous ice storm here the middle of January that was worse than this one.The day we buried my Mother on Jan 18th was absolutely terrible. The ice was 2-3" thick and you could barely stay on your feet.

My too-friendly local mechanic has warned me a couple of times about running too low on gas with the in-tank fuel pumps. He says that helps him pay bills.....I helped at least once on this topic....

I saw an item on TV the other day and it said about an inch of moisture per foot. I don't think that is right in this part of the US. Sometimes we get a foot of that old dry stuff and if there is a tenth of moisture it would be lucky. But then we may one of the few places that get real dry snow, huh?

No problems like that O what I was putting the tank on. Some how in 1980 they didn't have that type of fuel pump LOL. The tank I was installing was/is on a 1980 chev heavy half pick up. Got it on and about 1/2 a tank of gas in it now. Got done right at dark 5pm here. Figured I would leave it in the shop that way if I need it, it will be ready to go and have no ice in the windows also

I once heard an inch of rain would produce 10" of snow. Course, that was told to me by a fisherman, so who knows what that would translate into in real inches.

We got about 1/2" of ice and it is snowing right now. Temps are hoovering right at about 30°. Not really slick out - the snow under the ice keeps it from getting bad. Roads are a bit slick, though.....
