Identify a Model B

I posted this several days ago and now have pics. Can someone help me id what is supposed to be an Allis model B serial number is B90623, stamped on top of the tranny by the shifter. I can get this for trade. But I want to make sure it is basically a model B and not a bunch of parts stuck together to make a tractor. Plans are, if I got it, is to take it apart, paint and restore to model B standards. As I understand it, the engine is in good shape and needs starter, new gas tank, and other things. I own a wd 45 in great shape and still use it, but I need help on this model B. Thanks for the help. Duane

From these and the pictures you emailed me earlier, I just realized the hood looks funny. It might be from a D10 or D12, due to the decal and the fact that it is a bit too long.

A couple other things: I know that the lights go on the front through holes on the radiator covering. No holes in the covering? Means wrong covering? Also, the rig up of the lights and instrument box is wrong and will come off. And I"m concerned about the color of the engine/tube frame. Someone has been messing around. Just dont know if it would be worth trading for a trading value of $500 Thanks

Well for the most part it looks like it is a B but it does have some parts on it that are off other tractors. If it runs it is well worth $500. The tire chains are if factory at least $75. Ya may not be the best to restore if your doing a true restore but to fix up and use go for it. I my self have a lot of parts that fit it since I have a pair of C parts tractors and they use most of the same parts

Looks like a combo of parts. I think the hood is probably correct for the early crank start. They did not have the knotches for the head lights. The gas tank looks to be high at the back making the hood edge closer to the gas cap. I would guess that the front tank support is from a crank start without the wire loom hole which is lower than the later ones. Also guessing the toolbox/ rear tank support would be from a later year because of it being made for a battery box. I couldn't tell if the block is one with the generator bracket bosses or has been rigged for the generator.
I have bought worse looking tractors and paid more than 500. I would say it was a (fair) trade deal. That is if you want to have a fun tractor to play with. If a person is thinking about making money -- walk away.

The tube looks correct, just a funny color. If you are worried about the engine, the engine number should start with BE XXXXXX. Then number is on the back of the engine one a flat spot just above the torque tube.

I noticed there is no sourse of ignition. A distributor or a good hot mag isnt cheap. Also the pitman arm from the stearing box appears to be bent or has been heated and straightened. I think a better one could be found for not much more money.Tractor looks like its been run hard and left outside.(not put away wet) Good luck.

Thanks for all the comments and replys!!! I agree the tractor is terrible, I'm having seconds thoughts about it as we speak. Original deal was trade but that fell through, the owner will take $450 cash. I'm not sure, cause I dont like the fact that it's been sitting out in the open rain and snow, probably water pouring into the engine from the open manifold hole. The magneto and starter are off the tractor but do come with it. I'm not sure it either works. I probably wont get it at this point.

i would not assume "the motor is in good shape" since the muffler is off, the mag is off, and it has not run in some time. If it ran good, why did he take the parts off. As it sets its about $300. Try to turn the motor over with a hand crank. If it will turn i might go $400. Its something to start with, but needs some work. If your not prepared to open the motor, you might reconsider the purchase.

Old, you have any cultivators parts for a B? I need a spring trip for both of mine. One is round bar type and the other is the flat bar type. Would like to use them as they were ment to. Can't without. Let me know
