Identify Potato Planter Make Model #

I have this potato planter that I'd like to restore. It is still fully operational.

I do not know manufacturer or model number. If you can help me, that would be great. Please see pictures of the unit at Flickr website (http://www.flickr.com/photos/breesegonzo).

Part numbers start with "EU" - thought it might be a Eureka brand but can't find any info.

Thanks - Bryan

cool tool:

I have never seen a potato planter!

do you have to cut the potato's in pieces before you dump them into the planter or does it cut them up.

fix it up for sure, it's got to be a odd tool,

That sure save a lot of aching backs when planting time came. You would then need this to dig them. Hal

I am thinking your planter is either an Aspinwall or Iron Age. I wish I could be more help. Good Luck.
I have a Champion # 22 potato planter of the same vintage.

Yes: you cut a potato in several pieces. They key when you dice up the potato is to leave an "eye" in each section. This is what gets planted in the ground and from this "eye" the root is formed.

Thanks for the response...
