It is an A. The SA has a hydraulic pack under the gas tank. Your picture shows a space where this pack would normally set. I have a 1949 SA so yours must be earlier than that, although not sure how much earlier. I guess this comes back to my comment about the pictures being too small. Take a closer look at the pictures and you should be able to see the hydraulic system. Picture 5 (the one where you can see the battery halfway falling out and evidently hanging by the cables) is mostly a picture of the head-end of the hydraulic system.It is an A.
