Ok there over time has been a lot of conversation about condensers on this page about good ones and bad ones. So where do you go to find a god one?? I take it from the past the ones from Pakistan are junk but how do you tell?????

Was advised at Red Power winter work shop that the newer condenser are smaller diameter than originally. So they don’t ground properly inside band . Not knowing which design you need keep this tip if yours fall into that bracket.
Only had trouble with the one on H4 magneto. So no help . Who to buy from ,don’t know
Try YT !
Mine last along time. The one the super c is over forty years old. I just change points pitted points . That’s rare for me . Not much help.

I use Standard Motor Products ignition parts as my first choice. I get the Blue Streak Grade if available, SMP is dropping the Blue Streak grade option for many part numbers and offering a standard or Trade (cost competitive option) for those part numbers instead.

Echlin is my second choice. SMP supplies Echlin. BWD is another brand owned by SMP.

A guy on another forum I belong to makes some. I haven't bought one myself, but reportedly they are of excellent quality.
I will link to a couple threads on the subject. I've also downloaded a couple of his pics, since you won't be able to see them if you're not logged in over there.
I do not have his contact info. If you want one, you'll have to join the forums on that site. After 5 postings you'll be able to send him a PM.

I use original, working take-offs or NOS condensers. Shy away from open packaging unless it can be tested. Lots of options out there if you search by part number & start crossing numbers.

How do you test a condenser?
Condensers(capcitors) are tested with expensive equipment that uses an appropriate (high voltage for ignition systems and Motor Start/run capacitors) this device needs to know specifications to work correctly---- but an ohm meter can be used to check two failure types. When set to RX1 then placed on the body with one lead, and the wire to the other lead, no reading is poen and No good. A small reading that tapers to no reading is an indication pf potential good.
