can Any one tell me how to wire the key switch just 2 wires were do they go ? the way I hooked it up causes them to burn up

They look the same to me mine is front mount dist. does that make any differance

They are diff. If your 8N has a three post, terminal block, then you wire your 8N like the first diagram.
If it has a two post terminal block, then wire from the later 8N diagram.
If this is a 12Volt convertion, then you cannot use either diagram because these diagrams are Stock, 6volt, and they will not work on your wiring.
I don't mess with convertions.

The wiring of the "ignition switch" will be the same for 6V or 12V systems, electrically the switch is between the LOAD side of the Battery and the ignition circuit. Those that convert should be starting from the OEM drawing's and only adding the changes.

how many keys on your key ring. they don't burn up they break.. take all the key off and leave one key on the key ring that all you need to start the tractor... my 8 n would go over a bump and it would died and if i did pick the key up it would stay runng ...

Surely Gary meant, "may not," not "will not." A simple mistake.

I know how he feels. I am always reluctant to try and help people with twelve-volt conversions.

I've never done one, and I've seen damn few of them done by inexperienced individuals that were not problematic.

Now, conversions done by professionals or people with electrical/electronics training are a completely different subject!
