just wondering how big of bore I can go on a ih 263 out of a 560 and still run water. I didn"t know if I could bore in to the water jackets and put sleeves in.Cound not find a 301

I would like to know what 283 piston you use to get the correct compression height & what compression you end up getting? thanks.

I also am boring a 263 block. I am boring to 3 15/16 & putting in 366 big block chevy pistons. Lots of people bore to 4" and some break threw. I will know in a couple weeks if mine makes it. I will have a complete 301 for sale here this winter, I hope???

is the 366 chevy pistons a direct bolt in or do I have to modify the wrist pin. and what would the compression ratio be. also didn"t know if it was possible to go 41/8 or 4 1/4 inch piston, sleeve it and still run water

The pistons I used were nos std. bore jahns forged pistons for a 283 Chevrolet. Id guess most any 283 piston would be about the same, KB pistons seem to be a little taller if oem pistons are to short. We had a fairly high compression ratio but we didn't use a tractor head.

You have to bore the rod out to a press fit on wrist pin. Mill top of flat top piston off to match deck height of block. To the best of my limited knowledge anything you do you still have to have a 301 head & carb. compression ratio should be right at 10 to 1.I don't know anything about boring out to 4 plus inches & sleeving it, but it doesn't sound cheap .
