IH 350 Utility PTO Conversion

IH hole cover, has a lip and o ring on inside. Gear above rectangle cover drives the shafts back to PTO. Gear above driving that one is on a shaft connected to splines on main clutch pressure plate.

I Believe D Slater is correct. If it has an S in the suffix it was equipped with a TA (this is the Key) provision for a IPTO. This means it has the internal components to allow the addition of an IPTO either as built, or as a later addition. The difficult part is going to be sure there is a spacer that adapts the PTO unit to the smaller 300/350U housing, which is derived from the H series letter tractors. The same unit was used on SMTA and 400 and > up the line bigger frame tractors not needing the spacer. Plus all the lever and pivot for the control. The lever pivot system is critical because it has notches and pawls that are controlled by the handle button that actually place the IPTO bands in the proper tension for PTO on and PTO off/brake. I own one that still has the original bands and mechanism. the only issue that happened was the wallowing out of the woodruf key in the pivot. I fixed that with a larger key and reshaping the keyway/pocket. Jim

So maybe I can help a little
more, where are you located and
how much do you want for the
tractor as is? I have a 350
That's almost a complete wreck
that has a backhoe that I want
to use so a non pto tractor
wouldn't be an issue for me if
the prices is right and your not
to far.

(quoted from post at 07:34:41 05/01/23) Sorry Nash, location wise your
not too far away from me, but
we're just to far off on
pricing.

How about $5000
Where are you located 13fx?

I'm located near Spokane WA. Un
this area I don't see 300u/350us
in good shape and with loades
going for more than 3500. I am
planning on visiting a guy later
this week to look at a 300u with
pipe loader, pto,fast hitchand
unknown condition the ta. that
he wants $1500 for. Please don't
take this as bagging on your
tractor, but the rears don't
have much meat left, the TA for
sure is out, the power steering
leaks on the left side. I don't
want to make you feel bad but
I'd be in the 1500-2000 range
depending upon how the motor
runs and the condition of the
clutch and brakes. That's why I
said I think we're to far apart
on pricing. You have a really
great looking machine there, I
think you might want to try
marketing it in your area as a
driveway maintenance machine,
find either a fair fast hitch
back blade, or get a 3point one
with the fast hitch conversion
tongs.

I have more than 1500 into it so I wouldn't take 2000 for it. I will find a local buyer soon i hope. And the power steering does not leak on the left side as 13 fx states
