Are the 3 fingers on the steering clutch adjustable to hit the throw out bearing ... right side works .. left side does not reach the bearing surface
 
CHUCK, Sounds like the throwout bearing got hot and warped the fingers. If it is made as a rigid fingers, then if it is kept in use ,it will cause the bearing to ride at an angle and not fully release. I would change it post haste. JMHO. LOU
 
The fingers on the pressure plate are designed to be adjusted when final drive is apart. 1) sets fingers at right height to release
clutch 2) makes sure throwout bearing hits evenly on pressure plate. If this is an old installation then you have linkage or bearing problems.
