IH 503 combine

Any one know why one minute I have good oil pressure then it will drop and then comes back again, the motor runs great ,doesn't smoke or use oil and just had a fresh oil chg. and yes it is up to the full mark,, could it be sending unit getting bad?

I'd start with the sending unit. My 1460 acted that way, a new sending unit solved the problem. I like to check the easiest and most obvious things first - be a shame to do an overhaul only to find out it was the sending unit.

I would plumb in a T and install a mechanical gauge to verify the oil pressure.
