IH 584 loader hydraulic hookups

Unfortunately, that connection method only works for 3 bolt remote valves that came directly from IH Doncaster, UK plant, any unit that was shipped in a crate and final assembly in IH Louisville, KY, USA has the IH USA 3 or 4 bolt remote valves that require a Power Beyond end plate on the remote valve. Sometime in the mid 1980s, IH closed the plant in Louisville and started receiving the completely assembled 85, 95, 32XX and 42XX series tractors from the IH Doncaster, UK plant. For the crate units assembled in IH Louisville, KY, USA plant, the serial number plate will have stamped on it "Made in the USA", for tractors that came via Canada or later models after Louisville closed the serial plate will say "Made in United Kingdom" or old ones will be "Made in England". When looking for parts on Caseih.com Parts by Model number, if made in USA then select:
"584 - INTERNATIONAL TRACTOR (NORTH AMERICA) (01/78 - 12/84)", if made in UK then select "584 - INTERNATIONAL DIESEL TRACTOR (EUROPE) (01/78 - 12/81)". The early International 85 series is different from the later s/n 18001 and up Case IH 585..
This is what it looks like without the seat

And here’s the ends on the loader hoses, which type is better? The rounded one is the return.

Re photo of hydraulics under the seat, definitely IH Louisville, KY assembled tractor requiring a Power Beyond end plate to run the loader valves.

Re Quick attach hydraulic couplers, the IH Louisville, KY, assembled 74,84 Series tractors used the same coupler as the IH large frame tractors like 1066. According to Caseih.com parts, the p/n of the female end is 1282338C91, on the IH Doncaster, UK 74,84,85,95,32xx,42xx Series tractor that we received in Canada they had the European style female coupler p/n 3067993R91. We used the Pioneer/ISO 5675 style male couplers to connect to my Dad's now my brother's IH 454,474,684,CIH495 and 3230 tractors rear remotes and the IH 2250 loader.
The problems you are experiencing sounds like mismatched couples where the loader will not work if you reverse the hydraulic hoses and pull back on the remote lever. You could swap the known good female couplers from the 484 to the 584 to test.
Look inside the female coupler on the 584 to see if it looks the same as the 484.

See the following youtube videos to determine the type of couplers that are on your 584.

Thanks for that info, I will be installing a power beyond plate, but in the mean time using the rear remotes.

With the seat off I messed around with it today, the reason the remote lever wouldn’t stay in the up position was because it would hit the side plate before being all the way up. With that plate off I was able to use it in the up position, I bent the level down and now can use it in the up position.

In the up position when running the loader down quick it would pop the remote lever down. I swapped the quick connects on the loader hoses. With the pioneer connector on the return it would no longer pop down. I am going to rural king tomorrow to get another pioneer connector for the supply and this should fix the problems with using the rear remotes!

Thank you for all your help and advice, it is definitely appreciated!

You are very welcome for the assistance and you did very well yourself at diagnosing the problems.
The 484 and 584 are very reliable utility tractors. The 84 Series are a little harder starters in the cold weather unless they have the high altitude pistons in them.
All the best JimB
